I GOT THE JOB!!

Yes...I am finally employed again! Last Friday I had an interview for a 3rd grade position at Newcastle Elementary...and I nailed it! Now I have a huge weight that has been lifted off my shoulders and I can now relax until mid-August when I have around 100 trainings to attend. Here is a picture of my new school:

Now we are waiting on Steve to either get an interview with a FD or get hired onto an ambulance company.

We had a wonderful past weekend camping at Icicle Creek. We were able to get some warmer temperatures, visit the Bavarian village of Leavenworth, and let the dogs have fun rolling around in the dirt and swimming in the ice cold river. Here are some pictures from our weekend.

On a last note...Steve will be turning 30 this weekend!! We'll be having family and friends over to celebrate! I cannot believe he is out of his 20's...I met him when he was 21 and I cannot believe how much we've grown together...Happy Birthday Babe!! And also I hope you all have a great and safe 4th of July weekend!

Interviews and Camping

All of us at an Everett Aqua Sox Game (farm team for the Mariners).

Yesterday and today I was able to have some school interviews...finally! Yesterday I interviewed for a 2nd grade position at Clark Elementary and today I interview for a 3rd grade position at Newcastle Elemenary. I hope I get at least one of these schools to want me so I do not have to deal with the stress and worrying of finding a job. Both schools seem very promising and have a good repertoire with the state and district. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that I get at least one!

After my interview today we are going camping at Icicle Creek which is on the other side of the Cascade mountains. I am very excited to go camping since it has been awhile since I have...I got new mountain climbing boots and a new jacket for the cooler weather..I am ready! I hope when we come back on Monday I will have good news from a school that wants to hire me!

Also pray that Steve starts getting interviews soon....he scored really high on his Public Safety test and we're hoping that gets a fire department to call and request to meet with him!
Have a wonderful weekend!!

Happy First Day of Summer

Well Seattle is still dark and dreary with the sun trying as hard as it can to fight through the clouds. It has been overcast for about a week now and we are waiting desperately for the summer sun and warmer temperatures. This past week Steve and I were very busy getting our driver's licenses, getting my fingerprints done a 3rd time, visiting friends and family and enjoying the outdoors (yes sometimes in the rain). Here are some pictures from the past weekend and today....

Friday:
Enjoying a sunny moment at the Edmonds' dog park(close to Steve's mom's). Yes it's so cool it goes right into Puget Sound and the dogs loved swimming!

Saturday:
The Dogs enjoying a hike...behind Steve's Dad's house! It is so pretty and has hiking trails and a lake behind the house!

Pretty flowers throughout the neighborhood!

Sunday (midnight-ish):
Dan-O, me, Steve, Jon, Jessica, and Zach at Hard Rock Cafe`. Never go there...the bartenders were lazy and they lost Jon's card! Ridiculous!

Monday:
Maggie entered a drawing for a Twilight gift basket...she won an Edward cardboard cut-out instead. She was embarassed and decided to put Justin Bieber's face on it. Steve also admires him passionately...:/

This morning I also had a meeting with a principal in Issaquah to talk about the districts and other information...Cross your fingers I get an interview soon.
Steve is also awaiting interviews from fire departments so please keep us in your prayers that things turn out for us!

We're Here!!

Our last picture in front of our Tucson house...this was as we were leaving for the big move..

Finally we have made it to Seattle. We arrived in Maple Valley (suburb of Seattle where we'll live for awhile) Saturday to warm weather and sunny skies! It was so beautiful here and we are very excited to our new life in the Pacific Northwest. Sorry it has taken awhile to post we have been doing a lot of unpacking, and resting from the 36 hour/1500 mile drive. Here are some pictures from our trip!

Some of our last views of the desert!! We won't miss 100+ degree days!

Somewhere in Nevada...PS there is absolutely no cell reception in Nevada except for Las Vegas!! Grrr..

View of Mount Rainier from the Uhaul....this park is so pretty, we're definitely going to hike this!

Dinner at Ivar's with the fam! Ivar's is right on the water and has the best seafood!

Mom and Mike enjoying the cooler summer temperatures at Pike Place!

Dinner at Salty's. Another great seafood house!

Our new Seattle friend..

I will have more pictures up soon. We have really been enjoying the scenery and spending time with family and friends. Today we went and got our Washington State driver's licenses and I had to get my fingerprints done a 3rd time!!! The dogs absolutely love the cooler weather and more vegetation to roll around in. The boys can defintely run a lot longer with Steve on the bike with the weather change.

I will probably be blogging a lot more often because I am going to start taking at least a picture each day of our new hometown. We are also going to start the South Beach diet so we can be a lot healthier and I will definitely blog about our victories and downfalls. Wish us luck!!

Love you all!

Happy Early Birthday Riley!

I was getting a little bored with our blog template so I decided to change it to something more summery and pretty. Don't you like it?? I'm still trying to figure out how to create a larger picture banner to go on the top of the blog....if you have advice please let me know!

Riley bear's birthday is also tomorrow. He will be 4 years old...wow how time flies.

Today we've decided to take a break from packing and relax by my mom's pool. This is supposed to be the last day in the 90's for Tucson. So we are taking advantage of it before it is in the 100's for about 3 months constantly.

Countdown to Seattle: 7 days/1 week.....eeeek!
Can't wait for the cooler temperatures where I can enjoy the summer outside hiking and camping all summer long!
